Job Title: Development Assistant (Full-time)

Position Reports to: Deputy Director of Development & Communications

Summary: This position provides the perfect experience for candidates who are eager to enter the world of fundraising, marketing, and communications. The position offers the unique opportunity for professional development with monthly staff development workshops, comprehensive Raiser’s Edge training, and individual project management ownership. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of 3, and help raise funds to support the organization’s $2.5 million annual budget, develop marketing materials, coordinate events, and provide administrative support.

Development Responsibilities Include:
- Research donor prospects
- Maintenance of online and offline filing system
- Provision of general administration to the Development Department
Communications Responsibilities Include:
- Development of marketing materials—including the website (working knowledge of Wordpress a huge plus)
- Management of departmental mailings, including direct mail campaigns and invitations
- Work with the department to compile content and oversee final distribution of organization newsletter
Events Responsibilities Include:
- Management of venues and vendors
- Coordination of guest logistics and media
- Provision of other administrative support for all special events
Raiser’s Edge Database Management Responsibilities
(training will be provided for candidates lacking knowledge of Raiser’s Edge):
- Accurate and timely entry of gifts to the database and the timely creation and mailing of acknowledgements
- Implementation of regular database maintenance duties such as de-duping, data entry corrections, consistency of format, and financial reconciliation between RE and Finance Department
- Statistical reporting and presentation of campaign goals to the Development team
Perform any other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The candidate for this position must have exceptional writing, organizational, and computer skills (existing Raiser’s Edge experience is a plus), and be willing to work additional hours as needed. A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
