Social Services Manager
East Harlem Tutorial Program, a dynamic, nationally-known out-of-school education program, seeks a full-time Social Services Manager who will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering a range of youth and family centered interventions for EHTP participants/families in a developmentally, socially and culturally appropriate manner. The social services manager is also responsible for managing external partnerships with EHTP partners in providing services to youth in our program.
East Harlem Tutorial Program has been serving students and families from el Barrio and East Harlem for 51 years. Program participants are children of color from lower socio-economic households and failing schools. EHTP offers a professional, relaxed, community and family-oriented environment, along with numerous opportunities for staff, including mentoring, regular supervision, professional development training, and opportunities for advancement.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Function both as a leader and team member in developing and executing a case management system that provides selected EHTP participants and families with short term crisis intervention and information/referral services on an as needed basis
- Lead and participate in formal assessment and case management activities on an ongoing basis
- Lead and/or participate in formal intake and assessment and case management activities with program and administrative staff as assigned
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to social work interns in program
Performs any other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- LMSW or LCSW certification
- Minimum of two years post-Master’s experience
- Bilingual – (Spanish speaker) – conversational Spanish okay
- Strong clinical skills and experience providing crisis intervention and short-term treatment to youth and their families
- Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Commitment to working from a strength based perspective
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, non-traditional setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
