Welcome to EHTP

East Harlem Tutorial Program gives kids the opportunities they would have if they were born 20 blocks south. And, we’ve been doing it for more than 50 years. We teach reading and math, provide one-to-one tutoring, and build the social skills they’ll need to succeed. We also prepare kids for college and help them get accepted.

JP Morgan Chase selects EHTP as an Advisory Board Pick!

Thank you! We are thrilled to report that EHTP has won a coveted $37,000 Advisory Board grant from the JP Morgan Chase Facebook Contest – 1 of only 17 organizations to be selected to receive additional funds. We are grateful for the Herculean efforts of our EHTP family, friends, and community.

EHTP emerges from this experience with a greater capacity for social networking, a stronger EHTP community, and $62,000 to help change the odds for kids in Harlem.

As the doors opened to nearly 300 K-12 students in September, we are particularly proud to report that:

§   97% of K-12 slots are full;

§   our innovative enrichment programs are stimulating young minds through Robotics, Model UN, Touro College of Medicine and more;

§   our high school students—emboldened by the 100% graduation and acceptance rate last year—are already visiting colleges and preparing for higher education; and

§   we’re providing 37% more program hours and our cost per hour is down 20%.

Our community of students, parents, alumni, volunteers, donors, local businesses, nonprofit partners, and friends is stronger than ever.  There is much to celebrate and much work to do.  We invite you to be a part of the EHTP family.
