Dear Friends and Supporters,
It is with great pleasure that the Board of Trustees announces that Jeff Ginsburg accepted our offer to serve as EHTP’s Executive Director, effective June 9, 2008.
This is not a welcome, but rather a “welcome back” for Jeff. Previously, Jeff served as Director of Development and Communications at EHTP, where he helped oversee a significant increase in funding and a restructuring of agency operations. Before his tenure at EHTP, Jeff spent five years at United Way of Massachusetts Bay. After serving as Development Director for two years, Jeff then became founding director of the Math, Science & Technology Initiative, (MSTi) a statewide after-school program that serves over 1,000 youth at 18 after-school sites across Massachusetts. Jeff continues his involvement with MSTi as a member of its Advisory Board.
Jeff comes to EHTP with an extensive background in nonprofit management with a focus on out-of-school time programs and urban initiatives. Last year, Jeff received his Masters from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where he studied education policy and nonprofit management. He also served as the inaugural Co-Chair of the Dean’s Committee on Public Service, a group of prominent faculty and administrators leading Harvard’s effort to train and attract top leaders to careers in public and nonprofit sectors.
In Jeff, we are confident that we have found an able leader to guide the agency as we embark on our pending Capital Campaign and future expansion. Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated an ability to build programs from their inception, to find new ways to advance an organization’s mission, and to establish lasting public-private partnerships. Likewise, we have no doubt that he will carry on our legacy of stellar programming and meaningful community engagement, as well as serve as a voice for the youth and families of East Harlem.
Finally, we would like to thank the entire staff at EHTP, as well as our dedicated funders, volunteers and families for providing their support as the Board has moved forward with its objectives. As we move into the next fifty years in the life of the agency, we are secure in the knowledge that the EHTP community will continue to grow and thrive.
